Vidya Balan wins National Award for The Dirty Picture

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has won her first National Award for her performance in the film The Dirty Picture, it was announced on Wednesday.

"The Dirty Picture" is said to be based on the life of Silk Smitha, a south Indian actress who became a household name in the 1980s and 90s with her semi-nude scenes and brazen on-screen persona. Balan had already won several Bollywood ‘best actress' awards for her role in the 2011 film.

Actress Veena Malik, who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, says she is not bothered about what people think of her as she is not here to please everyone.

"Pakistan is my country and there are so many people out there who follow me. There are young boys and girls who look up to me, follow me, love me. But yes, it is not necessary that every single person should love me and I am not supposed to please everybody," the actress said at her birthday celebration.

Sunidhi Chauhan to tie the knot again

Every cloud does have a silver lining after all. It has been learnt that singer Sunidhi Chauhan is all set to tie the knot with budding music director Hitesh Sonik, who has composed music for films like Pyaar ka Punchnama, My Friend Pinto and Stanley ka Dabba among others.

Sunidhi, who has a failed marriage behind her, has almost always been a fiercely private person. When contacted, she sounded a bit reluctant but confirmed the news eventually, "Yes it is true and we will be getting married very soon but we are yet to fix a date. Hitesh has been a music arranger first and is now a music director."

Apparently, the couple have been dating since over a year and will mostly walk the aisle next month in Mumbai. A source revealed, "Sunidhi has always been very protective about her personal life. Although she was earlier married to Bobby Khan, brother of choreographer and director Ahmed Khan, she has never spoken about it in the media.

Sunidhi has slowly but surely climbed the popularity charts as one of the top singers of the country. She met Hitesh professionally a couple of years back, and the two have been dating since over a year. It was only last month they finalised they would be getting married."

Word is a suitable date is being set for an April wedding however
